t.name

In 1980 my parents gave me the 3 names.

  • One inherited by ancestry
  • One from my father
  • One for me

Or at least that’s how I see it. My first name is a name I have only heard on the first day of class, on hold with customer service, at the bank, when I apply for a job, and when I’ve gotten in really big trouble. You see, I go by middle name. It was my father’s name, but it was never really mine. So, for now, its just the letter t.

Lots of people ask me what this letter means. I try, whenever possible, to sign as t. nels, nels being my middle name (if you haven’t figured that out from the site yet, please look around a little more). The normal response when I do this is, “What does the ‘T’ stand for?”

I always respond the same way, and I think some people are starting to think its old…
